Firesteel Charles Family StoryCorps profile

Displaced when their New Jersey home was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, Andrea and Lawrence Charles and their 7 year old daughter Zoe moved around the country for over a year before arriving homeless in Seattle. With the help of the YWCA, the family was able to get stable housing. Now both parents are working, Lawrence for Republic Parking and Andea for a Microsoft sub-contractor and Zoe is thriving a neighborhood school.
With things looking beter all the time, the family shares a Saturday lunch and a strole to a local park.
